The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art techniques such as Multi-Photon-Excitation intravital microscopy of the lung and other organs in mice, microfluidic platform studies with human blood, proteomics and single cell transcriptomics, and other molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Strong background in neutrophil and platelet adhesion biology, lung biology, interferon signaling, and innate immunity is highly preferred.

Our labs are located in the Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) of the Blood Center of Wisconsin in Milwaukee (https://versiti.org/versiti-blood-research-institute). Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is the largest blood-focused research institute in the United States. VBRI is a leader in the field of thrombosis, hemostasis, benign/malignant hematology and genetic disorders like Sickle Cell Disease, VWF disease and hemophilia. VBRI’s close association with the Versiti Medical Sciences Institute, the Versiti blood center of Wisconsin, the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Adult as well as Pediatric Sickle Cell Clinic at the Froedtert hospital and Children’s Wisconsin Hospital ensures strong translational training and accessibility to invaluable resources such as patient tissue/blood samples. VBRI has a strong commitment towards career development of young investigators in the field of basic and translational hematology. Postdoc candidates will also have the opportunity to learn basic and clinical hematology, innate immunity, thrombosis, platelet biology and pulmonary vascular biology.
