| Position Summary | Bone and cell biology laboratory is seeking a qualified individual to contribute to our federally funded research program. The individual will perform studies aimed at identifying and investigating the cellular mechanisms underpinning bone loss and bone regeneration. Our lab uses both mouse models and cell based studies to examine the role of key tyrosine kinases and GTP-binding proteins in the regulation of bone cell function and skeletal phenotypes. The laboratory is situated in the Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health in the School of Medicine, which contains state of the art facilities and an extraordinary group of collaborative investigators. The responsibilities of this position will include study design and execution, data acquisition and statistical computation, literature review and assisting in the preparation of manuscripts and grant submission. Additional activities include assisting in the training, supervision, and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate research students in the lab. | Basic Qualifications | Applicants with a recent PhD or relevant postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in cell or molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, chemistry or other related field. Experience investigating cellular signaling mechanisms, including molecular biology protocols, and working with mouse models are highly desirable. Previous histology and microscopy experience are beneficial, although not essential. |
