Position Description The Department of Linguistics seeks applications for a full time postdoctoral researcher in the area of formal semantics. The appointment is expected to begin on or after July 1, 2024.  The postdoc will be responsible for research on lexical aspect, event semantics and clausal embedding, focusing on work related to Dr. Bondarenko’s project “Clausal Embedding Meets Event Structure” (funded by the Dean’s Competitive Fund for Promising Scholarship). Research expertise that complements the expertise already present in the lab will be especially welcome, such as extensive experience working on topics related to lexical aspect, semantics of aspectual adverbials, and polarity phenomena. As part of this research we expect the postdoc will publish in high profile journals and present in conferences and workshops, and prepare grant proposals for continued study of this work. We also expect the postdoc to mentor and interact with undergraduate and graduate students and other connected researchers through research collaborations in the laboratory.

The position is for one year, renewable if additional funding resources are secured.
Basic Qualifications The successful applicant should have PhD in Linguistics, and extensive research experience on some of the following topics: lexical aspect, event semantics, polarity, questions.
