Job Description Summary: |
The College of Professional Studies (CPS) is seeking enthusiastic undergraduate mentors for the Pre-College Summer Academy (PCSA), an immersive program designed to introduce students to the multifaceted experience of attending college. Undergraduate mentors will play a critical role in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for PCSA students. |
Requirements: |
- Assist CPS Advising Team with the development and implementation of engaging and educational activities for high school and incoming college students.
- Contribute ideas for workshops and events focusing on personal growth and service.
- Establish strong mentor-mentee relationships with students to provide guidance and support throughout the program.
- Guide students in effective time management strategies, create personalized study plans, and develop organizational skills laying the foundation for their success in college.
- Conduct scheduled study sessions to enhance academic skills and reinforce classroom learning.
- Assist students with homework and assignments providing guidance in various subject areas.
- Knowledgeable of campus resources to refer students when needed.
- Lead social activities with students as part of the program.

Additional Information: |
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a Villanova undergraduate student demonstrating strong academic performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide peers effectively.
- Passion for supporting the educational and personal development of high school and incoming college students.
- Proactive and adaptable with excellent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Students entering their junior or senior year of college.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a related field.
Additional Information:
- Internship credit may be available.
