Context

To meet the University’s mission of fulfilling the ever growing demand for employable human capital in various industries, the University of Lusaka (UNILUS) aims to benchmark professional and academic training with industry needs through the provision of relevant skills. The University has been training students with skills in various fields for over 17 years and has since contributed to economic growth locally and beyond. Embedding skill provision with the knowledge of CV creation will enhance students’ employability, thereby enabling them to access the available jobs on the market and open doors to the various entrepreneurial opportunities on the market.
In today’s competitive job market, a well-prepared CV can make the difference between landing an interview and being overlooked. This assignment aims to equip university students with the necessary skills to create professional and impactful CVs. By understanding the elements of an effective CV and how to tailor it to specific job roles, students can enhance their employability and readiness for the job market.

Task description

We are looking for 50 Online Volunteers who will support us with the training of students in the area of CV preparation. Under the supervision of the Lecturer- Human Resource Management and Development
The Online Volunteers will provide:
10 hours of online workshops per week for university students, divided into two groups (Group A and Group B).
Workshop Schedule:
Group A: 5 hours per week (1 hour daily, Monday to Friday)
Group B: 5 hours per week (1 hour daily, Monday to Friday)
Each workshop will cover different aspects of CV preparation, including:
1. Understanding the purpose and structure of a CV
2. Writing effective personal statements and summaries
3. Highlighting education, experience, and skills
4. Tailoring the CV for specific job applications
5. Using appropriate formatting and design
6. Common mistakes to avoid and best practice
Learning Outcomes:
Students should be able to:
· Create professional and impactful CVs.
· Demonstrate an understanding of the elements of an effective CV and how to tailor it to specific job roles,
· Demonstrate readiness and employability for the job market.
