Mt. Adams Resource Stewards (MARS), a non-profit organization founded in 2004, is seeking a highly-organized, detail-oriented individual to coordinate and expand prescribed fire in the south Mt. Adams region. Primary duties will include coordination of the Mt. Adams Prescribed Burn Association (PBA), a coalition of private land managers supporting one another in implementing prescribed fire on private lands, and the Columbia Gorge Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (TREX), an annual 2-week immersive prescribed fire training event held in Trout Lake, WA. The Coordinator’s daily work will include meeting facilitation, burn plan writing, landowner outreach & site visits, fire effects monitoring, participation in local prescribed burns, and numerous other activities that increase MARS’s capacity to conduct and support prescribed fire treatments.
