Fire Program Manager: The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring its statewide Fire Program Manager to lead its highly successful Prescribed Fire program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Forest Program Specialist, you will provide assistance to the Habitat Planning and Development Division Chief to ensure that the Game Commission meets the standards set forth in the Prescribed Burning Practices Act, established in 2009. You will serve as the statewide Fire Program Manager for the Game Commission’s prescribed fire resources and qualifications, wildfire resources and qualifications, prescribed burn plan development, prescribed fire and wildfire reporting, and wildfire intelligence and weather. We are looking for someone with excellent leadership and critical thinking abilities, as you will also be coordinating the Game Commission’s wildfire response with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Salary: $33.31 – $50.60/hr In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Forester; or
- Two years of experience as a Forest Nursery Assistant Manager; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- Two years of experience with prescribed fire
- Prescribed Fire certification such as RxB1, RxB2, RxB3 or FFT1
Necessary Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, of the proper class for the vehicles operated, as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
