Priest in Charge

We are a newly joined-together group of six parishes with seven beautiful churches in rural mid Somerset. We are now seeking a Priest-in-Charge to lead us as we enter this exciting new phase of our church lives together.

We offer:

• A supportive team of Churchwardens, an active retired Priest with PTO, a Reader and 5 Lay Worship Assistants;

• Committed lay people who are used to being responsible for their church buildings and church life;

• A four-bedroomed rectory in Pilton, situated in the middle of the benefice, with good links to surrounding towns and villages.

We are praying for our Priest to:

• Be a prayerful, godly leader;

• Be a caring link across our communities especially with schools, local groups and the organisers of the annual Glastonbury Festival, which is on our doorstep;

• Be a good organiser, bringing insight and enthusiasm to the continuing task of working together as one benefice;

• Be an experienced team leader, able to delegate, and to identify and develop the ministry of others;

• Be an enabler of creative patterns of worship.
