Job description

My client is currently seeking an experienced, Principal Consultant (Water Resources) to join their successful Environment & Utilities team. The ideal candidate will have experience across water management, water efficiency, water re-use systems, water quality, and wider supply and demand issues. Project / line management experience is highly desirable, in addition to commercial experience on tenders and client management.The Role

  • Analysis and interpretation of water resource data.
  • Development and evaluation of conservation and management of water resources
  • Expert Understanding of the benefits and constraints of water efficiency, water re-use systems, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) and technologies.
  • Client facing responsibilities: technical advice for stakeholders and regulators for water-related issues.
  • Experience working with Environment Agency / Natural England considered advantageous.
  • Feasibility studies, risk assessment for EIAs across various development types
  • Project management (budgeting, timelines, and deliverables)
  • Strong communication skills due to need for collaboration with external professionals on multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Over 6 years’ professioanl experience in relevant field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Water-related discipline.
  • Expert report writing, technical review, analytical and numerical capabilities.
  • Project management experience (Major Infrastructure advatageous)
  • Expert understanding of surface and foul drainage issues, risks, concept design and design development,including a working knowledge of SuDS strategies.
  • Exceptional commercial awareness and experience handling clients.
  • Holding, or working towards, Chartership (CIWEM / CEng / CEnv)
