School of Nursing and Advanced Practice

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has recently been restructured to enhance the focus on undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and advanced multidisciplinary practice. Situated in the Faculty of Health, the School plays a key role in the development of the current and future health workforce. The education portfolio is significant and increasing each year with various local and regional programmes. The School plays a pivotal role in the nursing workforce agenda regionally. The Faculty of Health strives to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and learner opportunities. There is a developing culture of multidisciplinary research into undergraduate education, simulation and advanced practice poised for additional growth and funding.

We are seeking to appoint a Principal Lecturer to provide leadership of the apprenticeship provision across the School, with line management of academic staff engaged in teaching, research, and enterprise. You will be responsible for the academic development and delivery of high-quality taught apprenticeship programmes in collaboration with the programme leaders.

You will be able to demonstrate academic leadership of nurse education and curriculum developments with the ability to respond to workforce challenges, the external environment and policy in this area. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals dedicated to providing an outstanding learner experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality, exceptional and transformative educational experience for learners, and be part of our continuing successful trajectory. We believe that LJMU is an environment that will enable your successes to be recognised, celebrated, and rewarded. You will join a team of staff with significant real-world experience and expertise from a range of disciplines which means that we are able to support your endeavours and provide mentorship as you grow in your role. If you are learner/student-focused, enthusiastic, and motivated, then LJMU is an excellent place to work. You will receive a competitive salary, with high quality pension provision and excellent holidays alongside a wide range of staff social and well-being benefits.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC (to be undertaken upon appointment).

At LJMU, we value the benefits a rich and diverse workforce brings to our community and therefore welcome applications from all sections of society. We wish you every success in your application to become part of LJMU’s successful and welcoming team of staff.

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.
