The Principal Operations Coordination Specialist advises and supports the PSOD Senior Management (SMT) on various aspects of private sector operations in the context of PSOD’s work program and operations. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Director General or the Senior Adviser and may supervise national and administrative staff.
Responsibilities:
Investment Committee Secretariat:
  • Supervise and coordinate the functions of the Investment Committee Secretariat (ICS), including its other functions such as the Blended Finance Committee Secretariat.
  • Support Deputy Director General, PSOD, or Senior Adviser, PSOD, in supervising and managing overall governance of the ICS and its related functions.
  • Liaise and communicate with PSOD staff partner departments and stakeholders with respect to the ICS and its related functions.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert in delivering effective operation of the ICS and its functions, working in partnership with management, staff, and consultants.
  • Supervise reporting staff and consultants, with clear direction and performance management, and ensure learning and development.
OneADB Coordination:
  • Lead the coordination of “OneADB” activities and PSOD’s engagement in Country Partnership Strategies.
  • Lead the coordination of engagements between PSOD and each of the Regional Departments, OMDP, Sectors Group and CCSD, among others, with particular emphasis on the Private Sector Development Shift under ADB’s New Operating Model.
  • Support and collaborate in sector and thematic group activities as needed.
Strategies, Policies, and Business Processes:
  • Contributes to the formulation and revision of strategies, policies, operational plans, and general business processes.
  • Leads and implements new initiatives and special programs as assigned by PSOD’s management.
Knowledge Sharing and Communication:
  • Communicate PSOD’s strategic framework and reform initiatives internally and externally as required.
  • Contribute to establishing and cascading PSOD’s vision, goals, development strategies, and key result areas to support ADB’s goals, departmental goals, and compliance with ADB policies.
Staff Supervision:
  • Creates and leads multi-disciplinary teams as assigned and ensures the overall quality of deliverables.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams and ensure their ongoing learning and development.
Others:
  • Leads, coordinates, supports and/or handles ad hoc assignments as assigned by PSOD SMT.
Qualifications:
Relevant Experience & Requirements:
  • Master’s degree, or equivalent, in economics, business administration, finance, social sciences or related fields. University degree combined with 5 years specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree
  • At least 12 years of relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of development finance institution policies and strategies, with strong conceptual and analytical abilities
  • Ability to lead inter-disciplinary teams, capacity to take initiative with sound judgment, and decision-making capacity
  • International experience working in several countries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required
