The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Unit (RMPU) at UNICEF Bangladesh is recruiting a Private Sector Support Officer who will support the design, planning, and implementation of new fundraising models to be tested in Bangladesh, as well as will support the Research and Business Intelligence and the coordination of Fundraising Campaigns, private sector field visits, and other related visibility and monitoring activities. This post is well suited to an energetic individual who wants to undertake a highly demanding coordination role within a multicultural environment whilst making a positive difference in the lives of children in Bangladesh. The position of Private Sector Support Officer (NO-1) will be reporting to the Fund Raising and Partnerships Officer (NO-2) and will be responsible for supporting mobilize resources for supporting programme implementation and office management of the Bangladesh Country office. S/he will also be responsible for a range of tasks that would require close and quality collaboration with colleagues in various Programme Sections, National Committees, Field Offices, and external partners.

Under the general guidance of the Chief of Resource Mobilization and direct supervision of Fund Raising and Partnerships Officer, the position will be responsible for providing coordination support in the realization of the country office’s Resource Mobilization strategy, in line with UNICEF’s regional and global priorities and strategies in this regard.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

1. New fundraising models (Individual Giving, Digital, and Innovation):

  • Support the research, design, definition of objectives, planning, and implementation of new models to be tested in Bangladesh (such as the Fundraising innovation Fund with Bangladeshi diaspora communities overseas, leveraging digital campaigns and traditional channels, the assessment of face-to-face campaigns and other new initiatives and opportunities). Work closely with the Communications and Programme sections.
  • Support Finance-related transactions: supporting Finance and PMR unit on their engagement with HQ to ensure adherence to UNICEF’s financial rules and regulations; assist in addressing individual giving queries, such as facilitating donations via cheque and providing necessary certifications and documentation.

2. Research and Business Intelligence:

  • Research, identify, and submit relevant private sector opportunities for partnering in UNISON, and develop feasible and beneficial partnership proposals.
  • Carry out administrative and operational tasks for all activities, including obtaining due diligence clearances and approvals from UNICEF’s HQ, in coordination with the Regional Support Centre.
  • Support the preparation of analytical and substantive briefs, reports, and communications materials for resource mobilization and partnership development.
  • Maintain and update private sector donor information and market trends, analyze funding opportunities, and manage donor profiles in collaboration with the RMPU team.
  • Assist in tracking the progress of the RMPU Strategy and Donor Action Plan, coordinating proposal development and ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s regional and global priorities.

3. Campaign Coordination and Partnership Visibility:

  • In collaboration with Communications and other UNICEF staff, develop integrated campaign materials and plans which support corporate partnerships and raise public awareness of UNICEF’s work in Bangladesh
  • Facilitate different meetings and workshops and other appropriate fora with various private sector organizations such as events to network for the implementation of strategies and tactics for expanded partnerships

4. Support in Donor coordination:

  • Support in planning and organizing visits for donors to UNICEF project sites and office meetings. This includes coordinating schedules, arranging logistics, and ensuring all necessary preparations are in place for a successful visit.
  • Work closely with various Programme Sections to identify appropriate sites for visits that effectively showcase the impact of UNICEF’s work and align with the interests of the donors.
  • Assist to reply to donor queries related to existing grants with programme sections.

5. General Coordination and Support:

  • Provide coordination support to various fundraising activities and donor engagements.
  • Represent RMPU in various intra-office meetings, ensuring alignment with RMPU strategy and effective communication flow.
  • Provide any other support as requested by the Supervisor and RMPU Chief.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public relations, International Relations, Social Science, Development Studies, International Affairs, or any other related field is required.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the development sector, fundraising, digital marketing, new business, and account management experience is required.
  • Experience in analytics, database use, and due diligence will be an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
