Job description

The Product Owner role will see you take ownership of strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. You will be working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts and Senior Stakeholders to understand the business needs to assist you in prioritising product backlogs.
You will own the Common Services product roadmap and manage the work for multiple squads made up of Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts to ensuring they are working to the business priorities.
Strong organisational skills are essential combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in order to manage expectations and issues effectively and establish/maintain a high level of trust and confidence.

Defining the Vision:

· Communicates with business stakeholders to understand business objectives

· Creates and updates the automation product roadmap

· Keeps development in line with business goals

· Gain insight from the product committee meetings around future development items

Managing the product backlog:

· Work closely with Product Management and Senior Stakeholders to create and maintain a product backlog according to business values

· Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of “ready for development” items to work on

· Dependencies are highlighted and mapped out

Prioritising needs:

· Plan and prioritise the backlog and futures sprints in line with the business

· Consider the needs of various stakeholders

· Identify directional changes where needed to support the business needs

Overseeing developmental stages:

· Be available during working hours to answer any questions from the team regarding the customers view of how they are implementing the solution

· Contributes to planning, execution and review of each sprint

· Works with the teams to improve process for future sprints

· Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Primary liaison between stakeholders and teams

· Regular reviews on current and future projects with the Product Managers and Senior Stakeholders across the business

Evaluating Product Progress:

· Inspects and evaluates product progress through each iteration

· Defines if the final project is acceptable

· Provide regular updates to the business stakeholders on their development items
