The Production & Design Coordinator will be a key creative contributor to the Ocean Exploration Trust’s Education & Outreach team, working in close collaboration with the Video Production Coordinator and Media & Outreach Coordinator to implement inclusive, visually engaging, and brand-aligned content that shares the wonder of ocean exploration with global audiences.

We’re seeking a creative professional who thrives in a collaborative, remote environment and enjoys being deeply involved in the creative process—from concept through final delivery.  This is a non-supervisory role that blends two core creative functions:

  • Video production and storytelling — including video editing, graphics development, and short-form content creation for web and social media.
  • Digital design and communications, including creating graphic assets for social media, websites, outreach materials, and organizational campaigns.

You’ll bring a strong design sensibility, storytelling instincts, and a passion for translating complex science into accessible, visually rich experiences.

Why OET?

At Ocean Exploration Trust (OET), you won’t just design — you’ll be joining a perpetually curious team to help shape how the world experiences the ocean.  You’ll gain hands-on experience with media from live deep-sea expeditions, help elevate real-world science, innovation, and role models as part of a large digital brand.

Founded in 2007 by Dr. Robert Ballard, OET is a nonprofit dedicated to pushing the boundaries of ocean science, technology, and education. We own and operate E/V Nautilus, conducting expeditions with global partners to seek out new discoveries, share them with the world in real time, and inspire the next generation of explorers.

OET works at the intersection of education and exploration, engaging millions of learners of all ages through partnerships and a portfolio of programs, including 24/7 connectivity to explorers at sea, innovative K-12 STEM materials and digital outreach, traveling museum exhibits, live interactive broadcasts for classrooms, and immersive, hands-on at-sea opportunities for students and educators.
