Scope of Role:Reporting to the Operations Manager (Roto), the Shift Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end operations on-site. This leadership position requires a proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of driving improvements in productivity and fostering a positive work environment throughout the plant.About Kingspan Light, Air + WaterKingspan Light, Air + Water is a division of Kingspan Group operating in 20 countries across the globe.   • End-to-End Operational Leadership: Oversee all operations during the shift, ensuring seamless production flow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant procedures and foster a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, quality, and environmental practices.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and guide the day-to-day activities of all production personnel, optimizing resource allocation to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Promote Positive Company Culture: Create and maintain an environment that encourages high morale, engagement, and top-tier performance across the team.
  • Disciplinary Management: Implement and uphold company policies consistently, taking appropriate action when necessary, including administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Quality & Safety Checks: Ensure operators conduct all required quality checks and follow safety protocols to meet operational standards.
  • Training & System Rollout: Support the rollout of new systems and processes by training team members and ensuring compliance with updated procedures.
  • Collaboration Across Functions: Work closely with the Planning, Maintenance, and Quality departments to ensure products meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Identify operational issues, propose solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant operations.
  • Maximize Labour Efficiency: Monitor and optimise labor usage to achieve maximum productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Cost Efficiency & Best Practices: Drive manufacturing best practices and contribute to cost reduction efforts and process improvements within the production department.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment required for production are available and properly maintained.
  • Attendance & Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records of absenteeism, timekeeping, overtime, and holidays, ensuring accountability.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit the daily production report, ensuring all relevant performance data is captured.
  • Site Security: Ensure the security of the site outside normal office hours.
  • Professional Conduct: Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Operations and Production Supervisors to support the department’s objectives.

Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 GCSE passes (or equivalent) at grades A*-C, including Maths and English
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IOSH or other recognized Health & Safety qualification
  • Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline
  • Formal training in Management & Leadership

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a similar management role, ideally within manufacturing or roto moulding
  • Familiarity with HR processes, including grievance resolution and the disciplinary process
  • Practical fault-finding skills for machinery troubleshooting
  • Experience managing key production processes and understanding plant operations
