What we want

The Program Aide is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Worker with trade work at the semi-skilled level for maintenance and repair or new construction to Veterinary facilities. Provides care for animals and veterinary facilities. Assists the Maintenance Worker with welding, and operates and maintains mechanical equipment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding: Assists maintenance workers with welding in heating, cutting and brazing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals with acetylene electrical equipment.

  • Field Work: Mow pastures, and edges and trims around property.  Assists the maintenance workers with operating and maintaining mechanical equipment.  Assists with fencing construction and repairs.

  • Animal Care: Feeds and waters research animals, cleans and disinfects animal housing facilities, disposes of animal and carcasses in prescribed manner. Performs other duties as assigned
