Background

The Programme Analyst will work under the overall authority of the Regional Representative of UNODC, under the direct technical guidance of the TPB Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with the TPB team in field office and headquarters. The Programme Analyst will be responsible for selected substantive assignments in connection with the project and administrative and logistical tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify capacity building needs of concerned national entities and assist other staff members and consultants on training workshops and other relevant initiatives for capacity-building activities; and prepare and participate in national expert workshops, sub-regional/regional workshops, as determined.
  • Support all aspects of the organization of workshops, including logistics and organizational aspects.
  • Provide support to TPB staff members, national and international experts/consultants in the preparation of their missions and for all related administrative and logistic issues (communication, contracts, agenda, visas, hotel reservations, etc.);
  • Support the coordination and provide inputs for the preparation of reports, presentations briefing notes, technical assistance tools, substantive publications and training materials and other relevant documents pertaining to criminal justice responses to terrorism.
  • Prepare and contribute substantively for speeches, presentations, reports and other tools needed, in support of programme officers.
  • Assist in carrying out various programmatic and administrative tasks related to project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed implementation reports.
  • Hold the team agenda, arrange appointments, meetings and missions.
  • Proactively maintain the activities/ Ensure the backstopping of the team while other project staff is on mission or on leave.
  • Any other task as required.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

University degree in management, project management, public administration or any relevant areas;

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in programme management, with strong document drafting skills (letters, reports, etc.), profound knowledge of bookkeeping and budget; development and contribution to project management is required;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet tools is required;

Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills is required;

Organized and structured work habit with an understanding of prioritisation is required;

Practical working experience with UN is an asset;

Practical working experience with using UMOJA is an asset.

Languages:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills clear up the staffing table to ensure the project’s successful extension and responsible managers can consult us on the planning for 2024  in English and French.
