Job Title: Program Analyst – Migration Specialist

Overview:
IBTCI on behald of USAID’s Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) requires a junior program analyst to support the Bureau’s Migration Team working closely with LAC Bureau and other USAID colleagues on migration challenges and opportunities.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the LAC Migration Team on the implementation of policies and high-priority U.S. government initiatives and programs designed to reduce irregular migration.
- Take direction from the LAC Migration Team in helping to execute a migration management agenda and in preparing LAC and Agency leadership to participate in high-level intra- and inter-agency engagements.
- Compiles and/or prepares briefing materials, ensuring all relevant information is available for events and activities along with conferences, travel, etc. Coordinates with offices across the Bureau and Agency on pre-brief documentation and meetings.
- Liaises with USAID/LAC’s Front Office to coordinate LAC Migration Team taskers.
- Develops and maintains digital knowledge management system for consolidating and managing LAC Migration Team publications, reports, briefers, correspondence and data – both paper and electronic.
- Assists the LAC Migration Team in quickly producing and updating background materials for internal and external engagements for LAC and Agency leadership. Additionally, supports the preparation of rapid responses to requests from other inter-agency partners.
- Supports the LAC Migration Team in conducting rapid research and analysis on migration trends in the LAC region and the impact of these trends on USAID programming. Collaborates with teammates and USAID stakeholders in a productive and organized manner.
- Ensures that USAID meets the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and quality in working intra- and inter-agency discussions, as well as external engagements, that rely on data analysis and communication. Provide accurate and timely updates for priority topics identified by the LAC Bureau.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Strong interest in or experience with migration and/or displacement issues
- Be comfortable in a team environment with a free flow of information and ideas, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment; and have strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Outstanding problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to pursue topics in depth, using a wide-range of resources.
- Familiarity with Google and Microsoft suite of applications, including Gmail, PowerPoint, excel, word, calendars, etc. Graphic design, presentation, and editorial experience preferred but not required.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, plus at least 3 years of experience. Experience should combine high level writing and research skills; or
- A Master’s degree, plus 1 year of experience. Experience should combine high level writing and research skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Spanish language preferred.
- Experience working on migration policy and/or programs is a plus.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
Pay Transparency Statement: We are dedicated to ensuring a thoughtful, compliant, and equitable approach to employment compensation. Our commitment includes conducting a comprehensive salary analysis that considers individual skill sets, qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is 61950 to 75000 USD annually.
