Program Assistant
This position assists Program Administrators with For the Strength of Youth (FSY) program sessions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Responsibilities could include as assigned: serving on department committees, assisting in the hiring of seasonal leadership employees, assisting with evaluating programs and personnel, helping Program Administrators with FSY locations, and other support duties.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Assistant program support responsibilities:
- Procurement of facilities for FSY sessions at campuses across the U.S. and Canada.
- Organization of travel arrangements for FSY leadership teams and others as needed with other FSY employees and the BYU Travel Office.
- Supervise student employees within assigned functional areas of responsibility.
- Interview process for the hiring of seasonal FSY employees.
- Human Resources transactions for FSY leadership teams and others as needed.
- Development and provision of training for FSY volunteers and employees.
- Procurement and shipping of materials needed for FSY sessions.
- Suggest recommendations for process improvements.
- Other general duties.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- One year of related work experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and one year of related full-time work experience.
- Prior professional experience providing services designed to strengthen youth.
Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:
- Excellent public relations and telephone skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience interviewing, organizing, and applying creative thinking.
- Demonstrated experience using computer applications, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience with BYU applications is helpful.
