WFP Venezuela contracts Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that act as allies in the implementation of the portfolio of programs and activities. Under the supervision and guidance of the Program Officer of the NGO Partnerships area, the Program Assistant will provide support to the monitoring and management of implementing partners who implement program activities that effectively satisfy food assistance needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide project management support functions and general office support in accordance with established objectives and WFP policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in the management and coordination of alliances with NGOs, from the survey of potential NGO allies to the performance evaluation of the NGO allies.
  • Support in carrying out training and support missions to allied NGOs to improve their performance in the implementation of the activities agreed upon in the WFP-NGO field partnership agreements (FLA).
  • Collaborate in the process of hiring implementing partners, the preparation of reports, as well as the different Standard Procedure Manuals (SOP) in coordination with your supervisor.
  • Perform accurate and timely recording of programmatic, administrative and financial data related to partnerships with NGOs in WFP corporate systems (COMET, WINGS, etc.) or other platforms in compliance with corporate standards.
  • Review and follow up on the financial reports of the implementing partners in coordination with the supervisor and the finance unit.
  • Within specific area of ​​responsibility, collect data and support analysis and report preparation to support decision making.
  • Provide support for analysis and reporting to support operational decision making.
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support the good management of alliances with NGOs.
  • Guide and support implementing partners on issues related to the management of agreements, especially on issues such as budget, billing, procurement processes and resource management.
  • Support capacity building of WFP staff, implementing partners and other key counterparts to develop WFP programmes.
  • Carry out other activities required at the request of the supervisor and that are in line with the purpose of the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED

  • Education: Completion of secondary studies. A university degree in project development/management, business administration, social sciences or related areas will be an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of work experience in the public or private sector, at least two years of experience in administrative areas. Desirable, 1 year in the humanitarian/development sector
  • Skills: Use of basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and advanced use of Excel)
  • Languages: Spoken and written command of Spanish. Proficiency in English will be valued
