Program Associate

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Social Protection and School Canteen of the WFP country office, the Program Associate will ensure planning and monitoring of the implementation of the social protection program in the areas covered by the WFP Country office.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list):

  • Support the development and implementation of various activities and processes relevant to social protection, supporting alignment with wider program policies and guidelines.
  • Support the project management of specific and/or defined programs to ensure that the various activities are carried out in compliance with the objectives set in accordance with the policies, strategies and orientations of the organization and the region in terms of social protection.
  • Support partnerships with government and non-government partners and ensure their effective daily management in accordance with organizational guidelines. Ensure adequate information sharing, reporting and accountability by cooperating partners.
  • Support strategic engagement with government and strategic partners and support WFP representation in key social protection sector forums. Actively participate in surveys and evaluations conducted by the government and its partners.
  • Carry out the analysis and synthesis of the reports submitted by partners and follow the encoding process in the different information management platforms.
  • Document good practices and support the preparation of fact sheets and other visibility documents relating to the project.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Training:

  • University education (Bachelor’s degree at least) in project management, social sciences, public administration, social assistance or in an equivalent field.

Desired experiences :

  • Have at least six (6) years of experience including three (3) years of postgraduate experience in the field of planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian and development projects related to the sector. education or gender issues.
  • Experience in implementing public policy would be an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good computer skills (use of computer, including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages)
  • General knowledge of United Nations system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing the administration of human resources;
  • Knowledge of WFP procedures in the area of ​​human resources administration would be an asset

Languages:

  • Very good level in French, and a good level in English would be an asset
