Summary of Job Duties:
The individual will be responsible for planning and coordinating field and lab activities independently, performing data collection and analytics, and ensuring data quality control. The individual will assist in designing field and growth chamber experiments to address research questions and summarizing research findings through technical reports. Field activities include but are not limited to planting, in-season soil and plant biomass sampling and processing, plot maintenance, note-taking and harvest. The Program Associate will train and supervise daily activities of students and hourly workers, maintain Lab supplies, equipment, and chemicals, and ensure the efficient running of the data collection pipeline of multiple research experiments. The Program Associate will be expected to communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders as needed to effectively contribute to the goals and objectives of the Crop Physiology and Climate Change research program and results dissemination.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences or related field with three years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree in agricultural sciences or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with field experimentation, data analytics and good communication skills are highly desirable. Experience in operating drones and imagery processing is preferred.
