Program Chair, Surgical Technology

Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time, 12-month, Program Chair for its Surgical Technology Program. Franklin University is a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio.   The Program Chair will lead the development of curriculum related to the Surgical Technology program ensuring that students gain relevant and practical in-demand skills. Primary responsibilities include oversight of academic quality within the Surgical Tech Program, leading the initial and ongoing programmatic accreditation, guidance and support for Program faculty and related staff and acting as a key advisor to the Department Chair. The Program Chair reports directly to the Department Chair and will have responsibility for program oversight/direction, curriculum development & oversight, assessment, program promotion in the community, and collaboratively working within a fast-paced changing environment, among other duties.  Preference will be given to candidates who will work an onsite hybrid schedule, but consideration will be given to candidates who work remotely with a commitment to be onsite when needed. 

The successful candidate must possess an earned master’s degree in a related discipline from an institutional (formerly regional) accredited university and have an active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.  Additionally, five or more years of professional experience in the field is preferred.
