  • Provide critical support across a diverse array of programs and projects for the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub housed within Melbourne Law School.
  • Join a team dedicated to enhancing legal research and education, which can be directly applied in Indigenous advocacy and self-governance.

About the Role. Engage and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the day-to-day execution of exciting initiatives, assigned projects, and administrative functions. Skilfully manage a variety of tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating project administration and preparing comprehensive documentation including plans, schedules, communication, evaluations, and governance frameworks.
  • Generating high-quality reports, briefs, proposals, and business plans for internal and external stakeholders, prioritising clarity and visual presentation.
  • Driving internal and external engagement through various initiatives, including workshop organisation, program planning, and logistical oversight.
  • Providing secretarial support for committees and engagement projects, including meeting scheduling and agenda and minutes preparation.

You will thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating positively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrating tact and diplomacy, you’ll navigate sensitive issues with cultural awareness, while employing negotiation skills to engage stakeholders and drive project success.

You will also have:

  • An undergraduate tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
  • Demonstrated ability in drafting reports, creating communications, and developing presentation materials with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Analytical skills, including proficiency in manipulating, interpreting, and presenting quantitative data, synthesising information, and deriving insights.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, specifically the planning, co-ordination, and completion of tasks to meet deadlines.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn’t have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
