ABOUT the ABCN Foundation

ABCN Foundation aims to level the playing field and empower high-potential young people facing significant barriers to achieve their full potential in life, professionally and personally. We do this through the provision of our unique three-year Accelerate Scholarship Program consisting of financial assistance, learning and development and mentoring support.

The Accelerate program supports 35-45 scholars per year on a three-year program providing corporate and peer-to-peer mentoring, face-to-face and digital learning and development, and provision of financial assistance. Worthy applicants who miss out on an Accelerate scholarship are eligible to receive a Highly Commended award providing financial assistance and tools to support informed financial decision-making.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accelerate Program Coordinator role is key in ensuring the successful delivery of the program to support scholars to complete year 12 and transition to tertiary education, training/skills and career pathways leading to sustainable employment.

The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in working collaboratively with the Program Lead and broader internal ABCN team, to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programs. This multifaceted position encompasses various responsibilities including data and systems management, program session coordination and administration, and event coordination. The primary objective is to streamline operations, enhance participant experience, and facilitate seamless execution of program activities.

reporting to the head of foundation, this role is responsible for:

Program coordination and administration including:

  • Coordination of the Highly Commended Awards Program
  • Coordination and administration of the scholarship financial award
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of program-related events, such as workshops, seminars, networking sessions and end-of-year events
  • Coordinating event logistics including venue selection and set up
  • Overseeing onsite event management, troubleshooting issues as they arise and ensuring a positive experience for all attendees
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop session agendas, ensuring alignment with program objectives and participant needs
  • Managing communication with session facilitators, providing necessary support and resources
  • Arranging travel for participants, including transportation, accommodation, and itinerary planning and liaise with providers to secure bookings
  • Acting as Digital Concierge for our online programming
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date program-related data, including participant information, session schedules and attendance, and resource allocation
  • Managing the organisation’s CRM system, including uploading new contacts, updating existing records, and maintaining data hygiene

key selection criteria

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, with a focus on data management and financial administration
  • Proficiency in database management systems and CRM software, with the ability to generate reports and analyse data effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and invoicing processes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in youth education or with youth programs desirable

Excellent Communication Skills:The Accelerate program deals with multiple stakeholders from diverse ages, backgrounds, cultures, and environments requiring effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong writing skills are also required.

Strong organisational skills: The Accelerate program involves the coordination of a high number of participants and stakeholders and requires excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Project / Program coordination experience: Familiarity with program management processes is desirable.

Collaboration / team-based experience: Enjoys working in a small team environment with an ardent desire to focus on priorities and support team dynamics.

Relevant IT and system skills:Proficiency in database management systems and CRM software, with the ability to generate reports and analyse data effectively. Experience with Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Zoom and CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365) is desirable.

Self-directed & Flexible: Able to work autonomously, quick to learn, takes initiative, and is skilled in dealing with program variables outside their control e.g., late mentors or students; room or venue changes, etc. Has strong time management and process management skills.
