World Salmon Council is seeking a Program Coordinator to join our team!!

WHO WE ARE!

World Salmon Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, providing experiential education and encounters with Pacific wild salmon to connect students and adults with nature and empower community engagement. 

World Salmon Council (WSC) administers the Salmon Watch program in the greater Portland metro and Columbia River Gorge regions. Using salmon as the focal point, Salmon Watch provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary education in the classroom, field study and in-stream observation, and community service learning projects to more than 1,500 middle and high school students annually. 

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

World Salmon Council offers a competitive compensation package. This position starts at $25 – $30/hr DOE and will work 20-30 hours per week. We offer a hybrid/flexible work environment. We compensate the federal standard mileage rate for work travel.  After 180 days of employment, we offer professional development paid training options. As part of our total package, we offer benefits that include health and dental care, massage, and behavioral health.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO!

The Salmon Watch Program Coordinator works to improve all aspects of the Salmon Watch program and curriculum to be more comprehensive, creative, accessible, and equitable to all students. The Coordinator works closely with the Salmon Watch Program Manager to implement Salmon Watch educational activities and works with staff and board to strategically grow WSC’s educational programs into more communities that support WSC’s mission of serving underrepresented students in outdoor and STEM industries.
