THE OPPORTUNITY:
The role leads the management and coordination of the community outreach programs and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
The Community Outreach function provides support to those who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness or persons sleeping rough by applying an assertive outreach approach, Housing First principles, and through a case management framework, where clients are supported through person-centred and trauma-informed practices. The Program Coordinator will lead by example, ensuring exceptional service delivery while adhering to financing guidelines, program deliverables and record keeping.
Haven Home Safe is a dynamic service which responds to opportunities within the sector for service delivery, as such the roles may adapt to include other homelessness support programs.
- Develop and oversee the triage function to identify and respond to the need and vulnerability of presenting clients
- Guide, coach, and support the team to consistently deliver quality service and outcomes to clients
- Ensure that staff safety and well-being is paramount and that activities are undertaken within the appropriate OH&S frameworks including appropriate supervision and risk management.
- Ensure the Community Outreach function provides support to those who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness or persons sleeping rough by applying an assertive outreach approach and Housing First principles.
- Proactively review the functionalities with the program areas to build staff and organisational capacity to deliver quality services and meet the KPI’s of the program.
- Monitor program expenses, review financial reports, and track spending to ensure expenditures align with the approved budget. Identify and address any discrepancies or overspending.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team including advice, rosters, leave arrangements, workloads, performance, recruiting, onboarding, and training.
ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Social Work, Community / Human Services, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in team management and leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of homelessness services and community support systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, CRM systems and data management.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to meet performance goals and deadlines.
