The Role – Program Coordinator

This role will coordinate the administration, granting and overall program related tasks involved in the delivery of the Future Drought Fund’s Helping Regional Communities Prepare for Drought Initiative, between July 2022 and October 2025.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the role will be part of a collaborative and agile team that works closely with community based non-profit organisations across Australia to assist in the consultation, planning and delivery of drought preparedness activities through community Impact and Small Network Grants.

The role will coordinate day to day program related tasks, the grants process including assessment, grant payments, data-based insights for reporting, support the grantees with content and access as well as support the Grants Support Officer.

Your Skills & Attributes

This role will be well-suited to a person with strong organisational abilities with outstanding administration and community skills and can thrive in a busy program environment.

In addition to this we are looking for:

  • Collaborative team player with a passion for achieving outcomes.
  • Adaptability and resilience in dynamic work environments.
  • Deadline-oriented with attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Balance in attention to detail with a focus on broader objectives.
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and willingness to support team members.
  • Proficient in literacy, numeracy, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Handles high volumes of information with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with rural communities.

Additional Requirements (advantageous to have):

  • 3-5 years’ experience in grant program administration or non-profit roles.
  • Practical experience in regional, rural, or remote settings preferred.
  • Qualifications in social sciences, humanities, or community development.
