About the Program
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centre forms a vital component of the integrated services provided in the reformed Mental Health and Wellbeing system in Victoria.
Services will be provided primarily by a team of individuals with personal experience as carers, and will offer support to families, carers, kin, and supporters of individuals facing mental health challenges, psychological distress, mental illness, or substance use concerns.
A key recommendation from the Royal Commission emphasised the crucial role of families and carers in not only caring for their loved ones, but also in the overall functioning and sustainability of the mental health system.
About the role
In this varied and exciting role, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the operational management of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centres and team. In this innovative program, you will support the continuation of the establishment of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centres in South West Victoria.
Supported by the local Regional manager, the role has operational oversight in the following key areas
- Partner with the local carer community and local networks to ensure the program meets the community needs
- People Management and Leadership
- Ensuring effective allocation of all resources
- Service delivery performance and development
- Identifying opportunities for quality improvement and enhanced service
- Ensure the program is aligned with Wellways values, practice principles, framework and recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System

Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a social science or related discipline
- Personal lived experience of caring for someone with mental health challenges
- Strong people and co-production skills
- Demonstrated experience leading a similar program
- Experience in supervising and leading a team
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Evidence of right to work within Australia.
This role will require regular travel across South West Vic and will require the successful applicant to have a current Victorian Drivers Licence.
