What we want

The Program Coordinator I – Instructional Coach will coordinate Children’s Center Early Childhood Teaching and Education programs. This position will provide technical support and services including coaching, training, mentoring, quality assurance, and teamwork.

What you need to know
Salary: $55,100 – $60,610/Annually (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience).

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or combination of education and experience

  • Two years of program administration experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to train and provide presentations to large and small groups.

  • Ability to utilize resources, technology, and library to appropriately answer questions and provides guidance to staff.

  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Sustained concentration and attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload and deadlines.

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to meet the needs of all children including children with special needs, challenging behaviors, at risk, and gifted.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

  • Experience: Five years of early childhood classroom experience or more than 3 years of early childhood administration or equivalent.

  • Certification: HighScope Trainer, COR Advantage Reliable, CLASS Certified Observer.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Coaching and Mentoring – Facilitate peer-to-peer learning both one-on-one and group settings in joint process of capacity-building strategies. Provide skill development and mentoring to staff progressing in their position by performing on-the-job technical assistance and mentoring of specific skills. Provide guidance to staff and students in building skills and competence. Facilitate the development, implementation, and coordination of internal support plans (action plans, behavior plans) with parents, teachers, students and supervisors. Implement and evaluate skills and strategies. Provide ongoing quality assistance to address children’s challenging behaviors and sensory needs. Support the professional development of all staff and students by delivering coaching and technical assistance.
  • Technical Assistance – Maintain content development expertise and disseminate such knowledge by providing ongoing quality assistance to staff. Develop and disseminate resources and best practices for the process of implementing quality improvement efforts. Promote continuous quality improvement and quality assurance efforts for the Becky Gates Children’s Center.
  • Quality Assurance – Evaluate and assess Children’s Center Early Childhood Teaching and Education programs. Participate in site visits, classroom observations, and work groups to assess program needs and planning strategies for system/process improvement and/or development of early childhood education, disabilities, and mental health. Assess the implementation of the center’s work plan to ensure the program/content goals and objectives are met. Provide guidance and support to staff and students with implementation of curriculum/individualization plans and ongoing assessments.
  • Teamwork, Communication, & Partnership – Communicate effectively to build trust. Work cooperatively with other departments and agencies to meet the needs of families and children served. Assist in coordinating child and/or family referrals. Communicate regularly with direct service staff and consultants. Participate in child/family staffing.
  • Training – Assist Director and Assistant Director in development and implementation of group, regional, and on-site trainings. Perform other duties as assigned.
