The Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) in the School of Education and Human Development is home to a variety of interrelated disciplines and degree options focused on human development and well-being in educational and community contexts. Our undergraduate programs prepare students to work with children and youth in a variety of community and school contexts. We also offer a range of professional master’s degrees geared towards professionals in schools, communities, and the corporate world. Located in the Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY), Aggie ACHIEVE is a comprehensive transition program (CTP) for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who have exited high school. Aggie ACHIEVE provides a comprehensive and immersive college education and equips students for employment in the community. Aggie ACHIEVE aligns coursework, internship opportunities, and extracurricular activities with each student’s academic interests and employment goals. Aggie ACHIEVE is designed to enroll students for up to four years.

This role works collaboratively with leadership to plan, develop, and implement program curriculum requirements and serves as administrative curriculum support for the Aggie ACHIEVE. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities or closely related experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience in Person-Centered Planning/Thinking

Essential Duties/Tasks

  • Curriculum Coordination and Evaluation – Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for students in the ACHIEVE Program. Assists in establishing short and long term goals and strategic planning. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Defines learning objectives and designs appropriate course content. Coordinates students’ academic schedules and support needs. Supports faculty, staff, instructors, and instructional coaches to best provide academic support to the student. Collects data to assess learning. Supports the Senior Instruction Specialists to write and edit course syllabi, course materials. Know, understand, and apply the most recent research and best practices regarding curriculum and assessment design, instructional design, instructional practices, and professional development to improve professional practices and student learning and growth, and continuously build capacity and understanding among colleagues in these areas. Collaborate with Program Director, ACHIEVE staff, and faculty/instructors to plan, coordinate, and lead continuous curriculum evaluation and assessment work across assigned content areas. Analyze various forms of data (student data, implementation data, etc.) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in curriculum and assessment design, instructional planning, and instructional practices. Establishes a metric for evaluation and supports data collection and analysis. Supervises graduate assistants and student workers.
  • Person-Centered Planning Leads, facilitates, and supports the evaluation of the Person-Centered planning (PCP) process for all students. Supports students to set goals, create a plan to achieve the goals, and to monitor goal attainment. Coordinates PCP meetings, invites appropriate members, and supports the development and implementation of the plan. Communicates regularly with ACHIEVE staff regarding plan development and achievement.
  • Social Media Management Provides weekly content for the social media sites related to ACHIEVE. Responds to messages/comments on social media as appropriate. Works in collaboration with SEHD communications team on best practice and may perform other duties as assigned.
