The Program Facilitator (AGYW) contributes to the development of the project plans, aiming to optimise beneficial impact to the beneficiaries in the program area. The jobholder implements the assigned project portfolio within the program area ensuring the achievement of project targets.

The Program Facilitator (AGYW) provides effective project management for a delegated portfolio of project activities, ensuring that results are achieved, and quality interventions are delivered in line with project guidelines.

The role is not responsible for managing a departmental budget; however, the jobholder can influence the utilisation of the project budget.

The jobholder is required to:

  • Have an accountability for the implementation of the project
  • Implement tasks on track in their activities, in a dynamic and changing environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Have communication and interpersonal skills to deal with various stakeholders at local levels

OTHER KEY DELIVERABLES INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining good inter-team communications, engender good team dynamics;
  • Adherence to Plan policies, including the Safeguarding of Children & Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC)

 KNOWLEDGE

  • A First Degree in Development Studies, Social Science, Gender, Project Management,  or  any other degree from a recognized institution;
  • Additional qualifications and experience in project management, report writing and social/community development skills will be an added advantage;
  • A minimum of 3 years practical experience working with rural communities;
  • Experience in project management and implementation in the field;
  • Familiarity with working with adolescent girls and young women;
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of training and resources to adults, young people and children;
  • Ability to work with teams, communicate and coordinate with government departments and other agencies at various levels;
  • Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development;
  • Knowledge of matters related to HIV/AIDS transmission and prevention, and strategies to influence policies in these domains;
  • Experience in management or administration of health projects, especially HIV/AIDS programing and dealing with international partners (Global Fund, etc.) considered an advantage;
  • Hands-on experience with managing Global Fund grants considered an advantage
