Cordaid is looking for a
Program Manager
(32-36 hours, based in The Hague)
The Program Manager will lead one of Cordaid’s key programs, the Strategic Partnership on Power of Voices (funded through the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The program is called Just Future and focuses on strengthening capacities of civil society for lobby and advocacy on security, access to justice and inclusive decision-making and peace processes in fragile contexts. The program is implemented by a large consortium of 6 international NGOs, 3 research institutes and a network organization, and over 35 partners in Afghanistan, Burundi, DRC, Mali, Niger and South Sudan. The program has a strong focus on locally led development, inclusion and conflict sensitivity.
What you do
You will lead the “Capacitating Change: Empowering people in Fragile Contexts” program:
- You will lead the Just Future program: as project leader you will be responsible for program management according to the program’s scope, budget and planning.
- You will lead the program management team at Cordaid as well as working with colleagues working on finance and operations.
- You will coordinate the Just Future alliance, ensuring coordination between consortium partners and country teams.
- You will monitor progress of the lobby and advocacy initiatives, capacity strengthening activities and adjust plans if needed.
- You will ensure that principles of locally led development, inclusion and conflict sensitivity are included in all program plans, strategies and activities.
- You will liaise with Cordaid Country Office, partners and other stakeholders.
- You will ensure that reporting to donors is of high quality and done in a timely manner.
- You will contribute to program development for future programming.
- Representation in relevant networks will be an integral part of your work.
Who you are
- You hold a Master degree in (International) Law, Political or Social Sciences, or an equivalent Master’s.
- You have 10+ years’ experience of working with or in fragile countries.
- You have excellent program management skills and knowledge and have led complex multi-stakeholder programs.
- You have coordinated teams of professionals to harmonize their efforts and achieve joint results.
- You have knowledge on lobbying & advocacy as well as in the field of security & justice programming.
- You have good social and communication skills for creating networks, ensuring coordination, and stimulating cooperation among colleagues and partners.
- You have excellent writing skills and experience in developing project proposals according to donor requirements.
- You are able and willing to travel frequently.
- Knowledge of English and French (fluent).
