The newly launched Center of Excellence in Neuro-Oncology Sciences (CENOS) aims to address foundational biological questions and drive clinically impactful discoveries to advance knowledge and enhance survival outcomes for children with malignant brain tumors. The Program Manager plays a central role in working with a dynamic group of research faculty, staff, and trainees to promote strategic alignment of research directions, multidisciplinary collaborations, training opportunities, mentorship, recruitment, and joint funding initiatives.
This position is responsible for managing large and complex research projects that span multiple departments and disciplines at St. Jude while ensuring alignment with the priorities of CENOS and the Cancer Center.
The CENOS Program Manager will perform a spectrum of activities, ranging from routine to complex. Primary responsibilities will include: (a) Managing CENOS budget, expenditures, and financial reports. (b) Facilitating internal projects between CENOS investigators and other St. Jude departments. (c) Managing external collaborations and processing internal and external requests including Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs). (d) Overseeing compliance and required regulatory documents, including Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, renewals, and approvals. (e) Organization of CENOS meetings, retreats, and scheduling of seminars, including external speakers. (f) Performing other related duties as directed to meet the goals and objectives of CENOS and the Cancer Center.

Job Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and execution of research program including driving objectives, approaches, goals, governance mechanisms, resource deployment, periodic reviews, contingency planning, and periodic reporting and communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally (including academic and government collaborations where required) to achieve defined outcomes.
Oversee compliance within research program(s) and drive relevant related processes (e.g., agreement processing, liaison with external organizations, documentation, procurement).
Drive internal stakeholder management and communications, management of external vendors, and strong partnership with stakeholders inside and outside the institution.
Track and report program and/or project success.
Provide oversight and management of program budgets through planning, control and tracking of expenditures.
Provide more complex analysis of data to create reports for senior leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Master’s/PhD degree in related field is preferred (e.g. life science, neuroscience, pharmacology)
Project Management Professional accreditation is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of research, biomedical, or clinical experience.
Eight (8) years of research, biomedical, or clinical experience is preferred with a Bachelor’s degree.
Four (4) years of experience may be acceptable with a PhD in a related field.
Experience designing and managing research programs preferred.
Experience in program budget tracking, reporting, and risk management preferred.
Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision-making preferred.
Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86,320 – $154,960 per year for the role of Program Manager – Center of Excellence in Neuro-Oncology Sciences (CENOS).
