Housed within the ASU Chandler Innovation Center (ACIC), the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute (Edson E+I) Chandler Endeavor Venture Innovation incubator is a strategic partnership with the City of Chandler, AZ, aimed at advancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the area. We are currently seeking a Program Manager who will be responsible for effectively managing and executing the operations of the incubator. Working closely with the Community Entrepreneurship Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful achievement of Chandler Endeavor’s goals and objectives while also providing support and guidance to the founders participating in the program.

At Edson E+I, our mission is to connect the broader ASU community with valuable information, resources, and skills necessary for scaling ventures. By increasing access to entrepreneurship for a diverse range of entrepreneurs and innovators within ASU and our surrounding communities, we aim to create unique pathways for individuals to thrive.

Salary Range

$48,960 – $62,500; per year; DOE

Essential Duties

Strategic (10%)

• Strategically maintain a deep network of relationships with resources and community partners at the local level.
• Demonstrate thorough comprehension of community development, including the strategic vision, partnerships, and stakeholders involved in the program.
• Continuously iterate, in collaboration with the Director of Community, Edson E+I’s distinctive incubation and programming approach, staying up to date on current research in relevant technology industries and global best practices for commercialization.
• Develop relationships with other ACIC and City of Chandler stakeholders, including event and fabrication shop managers, understanding escalation and managing expectations.

Managerial (10%)

• Create a positive culture that creates a sense of belonging and engagement within the team and local ecosystem.
• Maintain close coordination with the Chandler Endeavor Program Coordinator and working learners to ensure efficient execution of required tasks.
• Foster relationships across the Edson E+I team to advance the overall objectives of the Edson E+I Institute.

Programmatic (75%)

• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison, maintaining ongoing engagement with Chandler Endeavor incubation ventures.
• Provide insight and coordinate the development of resources based on the specific needs of ventures to mentors and the Director of Community.
• Implement all activities and programs related to the incubator, such as monthly events, mentor management, founder meetups, prototyping support, and foundational education.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate a detailed quarterly program plan, timeline, and budget.
• Create and facilitate internal and external outreach campaigns to identify and cultivate new program participants, mentors, and partners.
• Implement ecosystem development activities in accordance with evidence-based best practices.
• Compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative data on Edson E+I’s activities and impact, synthesizing them into sophisticated narratives.

Other (5%)

• Provide support to other ASU or community initiatives that align with the goals and mission of Edson E+I.
• Act as a representative of Edson E+I, the community, and venture development, participating in various department, unit, and university committees as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

• Direct experience with managing successful entrepreneurial programs.
• Experience tracking data and information using multiple technology platforms, including Trello, Qualtrics, Airtable, HubSpot, MS Office and Teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology validation models including iCorps and others.
• Experience working in academic institutions, including direct communication with faculty.
• Experience in program construction and management with effective resource identification and allocation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology and innovation, including funding mechanisms

Working Environment

• A fast-paced entrepreneurial team that requires someone who can execute work independently while strategically collaborating with a diverse team.
• Daily tasks and schedules changes based on the needs of the community and the overall program, this position requires someone who is flexible and thrives in an environment where they are required to learn consistently and can apply new ideas quickly.
• A consistent presence is required onsite at ASU Chandler Innovation Center and in the Chandler community.
• This position requires travel, with expected regular attendance and programming support between The Studios (Mesa, AZ) and ASU SkySong (Scottsdale, AZ) locations. Travel to event locations and other sites as needed may also be required.
• Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts.
• Regular communication to perform essential duties.
• Activities include using office equipment, including a laptop computer, subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting to 25 pounds.
• May require a flexible work schedule to accommodate events, projects, and initiatives, including evenings and weekends.
