LOCATION: Arlington, Virginia; Little Rock, Arkansas; or remote within the United States
REPORTS TO: Director, Clean Energy and Circular Economy (CECE)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you passionate about increasing access to clean energy and supporting a circular economy in low-income countries? Are you a great project manager and writer with critical thinking skills? And, are you fluent in Spanish? If so, we want you on our team! Our CECE team works in two fields. Under clean energy, we specialize in off-grid solar applications for rural smallholders, including solar water pumps and solar chillers; and access to energy in developing countries, including solar home/business/school systems. Under circular economy, we address urban pollution issues including solid waste management and plastic pollution reduction.
The CECE Program Manager position offers in-depth involvement in both management and technical aspects of our portfolio of projects, which includes work in the Caribbean, Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Vietnam, Nepal, and Indonesia. The Program Manager will serve as home office manager responsible for achieving the results of large, multi-year projects, and will play a key role in major proposals, including technical design and travel for proposal development. This position also offers the opportunity to exchange insights and learnings with thought leaders on energy and environmental issues facing the Global South.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Candidates must be based in the U.S. and are expected to align work hours with the Eastern time zone.
Who we’re looking for: Candidates with at least 6 years of environment-related project management experience who have completed at least a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to clean energy, environmental finance, environmental sciences, or natural resource management. Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must be fluent in speaking, writing, and understanding the Spanish language.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in renewable energy and/or circular economy (mitigation of air, water, and/or plastic pollution). Candidates must have demonstrated experience working in at least one low-income country.
