As an alliance of 10 research, academic and clinical organisations, the VCCC Alliance, supported by funding from the Victorian Government, continues its ground-breaking work developing and implementing innovative programs aimed to improve outcomes for patients with cancer.
About the Position
A member of our team is about to go on parental leave for the next 12 months and we therefore have an opportunity available to act in her position while she has her baby. It’s an exciting time to join us as we transition from one strategic program plan to the next this year, allowing this role to develop the foundational elements for a new educational program of work in collaboration withe expert stakeholders. With relevant support, the role will also be responsible for impact reporting and the evaluation of a lapsing program and work toward the next iteration of the program.
As Program Manager, eLearning, you will oversee the timely development of educational content for the VCCC Alliance Centre for Cancer Education site. The role is technical in nature, responsible for driving improvements to the Learning Management System, Opigno, with development support from an external provider. In this role, you will also assist in building educational courses by translating existing educational content into fit-for-purpose adult eLearning material, working closely with the Senior eLearning Developer, amongst other contributors, and work to ensure the site continues to be a great user learning experience.
About the Opportunity
Primarily the success of this role is based on managing relationships and great communication – arguably at the heart of all good project management.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing the transition of digital educational programs coming to an end mid year, supporting current activity and the program steering group
- Manage the development of new educational program objectives from 1 July 2024
- Assist with program evaluation and reporting
- Manage the development of digital educational content for VCCC Alliance’s Centre for Cancer Education, in collaboration with education team colleagues
- Manage the technical ‘backend’ of the Learning Management System, Opigno
- Oversee technical delivery of educational content via third party developers, Bliss Media
- Translate existing educational content into relevant adult learning material for the Centre for Cancer Education site
- Support the formation of a new program steering group in the new financial year to guide the new program of work
- Manage project milestones, budget, contracting, risks and progress reporting.
About You
As an education professional, you will have solid experience in the use of learning management systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and get to the bottom of technical issues. You will understand the principles of digital educational development and will be comfortable working with and instructing a technical development team. You will be a highly organised and proactive project manager who takes pride in working collaboratively to achieve results. You will be calm and resourceful and enjoy working at a fast pace with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of high quality and cutting edge cancer-related online educational programs.
You are likely to hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as education, public health, science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
You will have:
- Experience in the delivery of e-learning educational content development, moderation, and facilitation.
- Technical skill and experience in managing online content development, delivery, promotion, and evaluation of educational activities, preferably in a complex health care setting.
- Skilled in the use and application of a Learning Management System, preferably Opigno, and Drupal for content management or similar platforms
- Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot technical issues and drive fixes and improvements with a third party development team
- Experience managing and tracking projects to time and budget, ideally in cancer research, biomedical, education or cancer healthcare setting
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders to co-develop project objectives & plans within a strategic framework
- Skilled in writing reports, briefs, presentations, and other written communications for a range of audiences, including professional agendas and minutes for a project steering group
- Skilled in the use of LMS such as Opigno, and Content Management System, preferrable Drupal
- Experience using platforms such as Zoom, MSTeams or similar, and skill in the use of MSOffice suite/Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with experience in complex stakeholder management.
