The Program Manager – Gadigal Centre (Identified) has been designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
The Gadigal Centre is the University of Sydney’s dedicated student centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing academic, pastoral and cultural support services to Indigenous students to help them achieve their full potential and to graduate job-ready.

Reporting to the Director of the Gadigal Centre, the Program Manager, Gadigal Centre (Identified) will oversee the creation and delivery of all strategic programs and initiatives relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success at The Gadigal Centre. This role includes all phases of learning and wellbeing assistance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students delivered by the Centre’s Advancement and Engagement Coordinators and provides leadership in identifying and addressing trends, areas for improvement and pockets of good practice across the University. There is also a key reporting requirement around National Indigenous Australian Agency program that is needed within this role.

Your key responsibilities will be:
- Work collaboratively with the Director of the Gadigal Centre and other colleagues within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy and Services (DVC-ISS) portfolio.
- Lead a team within the Gadigal Centre and play a key role in managing events.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with Aboriginal community, civil society, government, industry and the University community.
- Develop and lead projects ensuring they align with the overarching strategic objectives for the Gadigal Centre.
- A point of contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students for non-academic support, cultural mentorship, and advice.
- Contribute to reporting on a regular basis for internal governance and external agencies and undertake routine reviews of all key activities.
About you
- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and has lived experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and communities.
- People leadership, project management and strategic thinking skills.
- Events management experience with community.
- Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student / employee success.
- Has demonstrated knowledge of the various Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisation in the local regions.
- Has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial, reporting and budgetary management skills.
