The Opportunity
The Health Grants Manager is responsible for leading the management and assessment of strategic grants within the Public Health and Medical Research portfolio. Reporting directly to the Foundation’s CEO, you will demonstrate your ability to identify and assess new projects, and support their success by building trusted relationships with our grantees. You will undertake site visits for grant applications as part of annual open-grant rounds, and cultivate important relationships in the sector with government bodies and other philanthropic foundations.
About You
You are passionate about the health sector and the opportunity philanthropy has to make a difference. You are either a philanthropy, health or medical research professional seeking to utilise your stakeholder engagement, project management and research experience in a new way.
You are an articulate and exceptional communicator; comfortable presenting your project findings to teams and Board members. You take pride in your skill at identifying key information, undertaking due diligence on potential projects and presenting your recommendations in a clear and succinct manner. You’re at a point in your career where you want to be part of a reputable organisation that will enable your work to have an immediate impact on the greater good.
About The Role
To be considered for this role you will be required to demonstrate your capabilities:
- Administering or managing the grant making process
- Analysing, researching and assessing information relating to the health and/or medical research sector
- Consulting and working effectively with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders
- Building knowledge about best practice in philanthropy
- Communicating effectively in the written and spoken form
- Preparing papers to present to Committee and Board members
- Collaborating and building relationships within the philanthropic, health and medical research sector
- Executing your work to the highest ethical standards
- Learning new CRM systems easily
Ideally you will have a degree or higher qualification (Masters or equivalent) in public health and/or significant involvement and exposure to the health sector.
The successful candidate must complete a current Police Check.

This is a permanent full-time position located in the CBD. Our Client supports flexible working, with an expectation of 3 days in the office each week. A competitive salary is on offer.
