Job Description
The Highlights:
The Manager of Community Partnerships for DePaulâ™s Master of Public Health (MPH) program reports to the Program Director and will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and evaluating partnerships with agencies which provide practicum and other opportunities for DePaul University MPH students and faculty. Serve as an instructor for the MPH practicum experience course and will develop education materials, evaluate the project portfolio, advise students, and act as the liaison between the MPH program and its partner sites.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish, maintain, and evaluate relationships with community partners which support MPH students in practicum and other courses.
- Teach the practicum experience course (MPH 699), MPH 600 (Preparation for Public Health Practice), and supervise MPH graduate students for the duration of the academic year.
- Create and maintain all practicum-related documentation mandated by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and DePaul University.
- Work with MPH program and DePaul University to develop, disseminate, and implement and evaluate policies and procedures related to practicum.
- Work with MPH program staff and faculty to coordinate activities including graduate admissions, capstone committee, the Health Equity & Social Justice Conference, and the graduate forum.
- Represent the program at recruitment, institutional, and community partner events.
- Supervision and oversight of select program projects
What You’ll Need:
- Graduate degree in public health or allied field required; MPH degree from an accredited institution preferred
- Five years of full-time (or equivalent) professional experience is preferred.
- Prior supervisory responsibility required.
- Prior experience with graduate students required.
- Accredited MPH degree is required.
- Excellent overall written and oral communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of Chicago-area public health agencies and organizations
- Must be able to establish and maintain partnerships with agencies and individuals connected to student learning as well as work within an academic setting.
- Must be able to travel in the Chicago area for site visits.
- Must be able to monitor student learning and be proactive in assessing and solving challenges.
- Must be available some evenings to accommodate class meetings and events.
- Must be able to work with academic faculty, student workers, and others connected to the MPH program.
- Must be comfortable in using email and social media to disseminate reports and communicate with the public.
