UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is hiring for a Program Manager – Research to join their team of professionals. The Program Manager will assist the Associate Dean for Research in overseeing the general operations of the research agenda for the Office of Research. Develops, plans, and analyzes research activities, including workflow planning and research compliance analysis in the School of Dentistry.

Position Summary:
Develops, plans, maintains research and policy analysis. Oversees the general running of the laboratory.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Depending on research may require advanced level grant writing skills.
Depending on research may require Registered Nurse within the State of Texas.
Depending on research may require Clinical Research Coordinator certification.
May require program specific certifications.
Preferred Skills:
Fundamental understanding of the structure and requirements of research grants.
Fundamental understanding of basic, translational and clinical research methods.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Previous experience in the management of a multi-PI grant or Center.
Experience in grant management including preparing, planning, writing and compiling both administrative and scientific grant components.
Experience in trainee and staff research training.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in science or a health administration related field.
Minimum Experience:
Five years of applicable experience.
May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
