The OU-TU School of Community Medicine seeks a Program Manager to join the team implementing a newly funded medical student education project (HRSA 2023-2027) to expand and enhance aspects of the medical school curriculum to prepare and encourage medical students to choose residencies and careers in primary care serving tribal, rural, and medically underserved communities in Oklahoma. This is a grant funded position; funding is through a multiyear grant with funding each year conditional upon availability of funds and progress. OU-Tulsa employees appointed to positions funded in part or in whole by a grant are expected to use all earned paid leave during the specified period of their appointment. The maximum amount of accrued but unused leave that will be paid out at the termination of employment is 40 hours.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for program or project management and oversight of day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for daily program or project management throughout the program lifecycle.
- Aligns deliverables to the program’s outcome.
- Meets with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals.
- Assists Lead Program Manager in tracking program or project budgets.
- Provides oversight of ongoing projects.
- Interfaces with university departments, funding sources, outside organizations and state/government agencies.
- Assesses program effectiveness and identifies areas of improvement.
- Manages program documentation, data collection, and reporting.
- Develops program goals and objectives.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree, AND:
- 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.
Working Conditions:
- Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
- Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. May require contact with other departments and university officials.
Certifications or Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Program Management Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
- Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports
- Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
- Strong initiative to solve problems
- Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Has some program management training either through online or in person training
