We invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following positions:
The Program Specialist – Climate Resilience is responsible for identifying and developing the strategies and activities to achieve the goal of the Climate Resilience Project. S/he will provide technical support in the assessment, planning, and implementation of the Climate Resilience program initiatives. S/he is responsible for coordinating activities including the systems of quality control, monitoring; evaluation, and integration with other programs.
Further, as the Program Specialist – Climate Resilience:
- You will lead in the generation of ideas, concepts & insights, strategies, and activities based on verifiable indicators, trends, and patterns related to Climate Resilience.
- You will identify and develop training manuals and guidance documents on Climate Resilience.
- You will conduct field visits to provide direct and immediate assistance to the Climate Resilience project.
- You will facilitate forging of partnership agreements with Government Agencies, Non-government Organizations, or individuals for technical and/or financial support related to the project.
- You will attend meetings or assemblies organized by partners/alliances and present Plan International Pilipinas’ mandate and report on the Climate Resilience project updates/progress at the national level.
- Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
- University degree in Health or related field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
- With five years of experience in implementing Health programs especially related to Climate Resilience; three years of which are in the community development sector doing research, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health projects.
- Practical experience in providing technical support and advice to field staff or partners.
- Training on topics or skills related to: Nutrition, Early Childhood Care and Development, Child and Maternal Health, Adolescent Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH), Project Management, Case Management, Child’s Rights, Gender Equality and Inclusion.
- Ability to show sound analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to influence others’ behavior through effective relationship building.
- Flexible, has a good command of both oral and written English and good human relations.
- This role will require fieldwork. Applicant must be open and able to conduct fieldwork in areas covered by the project.
- Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
Location: Makati City, with frequent field work to the project areas.
Type of Role: Fixed-term (until December 2024, with possible extension)
Reports to: Portfolio Manager – Disaster Risk Management, Resilience Building and Climate Change Adaptation
