The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.
We are seeking an experienced Program Specialist, student2student to join our organisation. Reporting to the Team Leader, Program Specialists and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will support and coordinate the successful delivery of student2student (s2s) within Queensland. The role provides program leadership and guidance to the Queensland Learning for Life team and operates as a subject matter expert within the region. This role is a temporary part-time position working 18.75 hours/week until end December 2025.
About our role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing clear and relevant program updates, direction, and support to Learning for Life team members.
- Maintaining strong school partnerships and training student volunteers (face to face/on sight in Brisbane).
- Providing customer service to program participants including students, parents/carers, and School Facilitators, including troubleshooting program engagement/satisfaction issues as needed.
- Recording and communicating program data and outcomes to inform ongoing program improvements.
- Contributing to the development of program resources/materials.
- Appropriately managing any child safety concerns within The Smith Family’s framework.
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Ideally hold a tertiary qualification (preferably in project management or social services)
- Demonstrated experience in program management and training
- Capable of working independently and in collaboration with a full-time Program Specialist
- High level administration skills including computer literacy and familiarity with databases
- Exceptional ability to establish, build and maintain internal and external networks and relationships
- Highly effective communication skills
- Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check
