The Position:
Taking into consideration the ongoing decentralization in Malawi and necessity of the creation of national ownership at the district level UNFPA will have district presence. The Programme Analyst position is district based, ensuring the programmatic delivery of UNFPA’s work in the Field. S/He is responsible for translating and supporting the delivery of the Country Office programme in the field. The post holder will be substantively responsible for the provision of integrated technical assistance and environmental scanning. He/ she will coordinate all the UNFPA interventions, from all funds and projects, under the districts’ work plan in close collaboration and dialogue with all programmatic and operations responsible persons. Thus, S/He will contribute to the translation, implementation, coordination and monitoring of programme activities in the field including in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS, Gender/GBV/harmful practices such as child marriage, Adolescent and Youth, Population and Development issues in both humanitarian and development settings.
Under the direct supervision of the Program Speciallit: Youth & Adolescents the Programme Analyst contributes to management of UNFPA’s programming activities on reducing harmful practices such as child marriage and GBV in Malawi particularly among the adolescents/young people, women and key population groups; including in humanitarian settings. S/he works closely with the other Programme Analysts and specialists in achieving the targets of the CO in Integrated Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (ISRHR).
The Programme Analyst actively participates in local inter-agency coordination mechanisms in the field to ensure UNFPA’s needs in common systems and service issues are met. External partners include other UN agencies, vendors, and other non-UN partners that are essential to the work of UNFPA in the assigned district .
