Under the overall supervision of the Representative and the direct supervision of the Maternal Health Programme Specialist, and in close collaboration with other Programme Officers, the Operations team, and UNFPA sub-office staff.
Responsibilities
- Analyze implementation reports related to their area of responsibility and provide feedback on the implementation, results achieved, obstacles and challenges encountered, with the aim of proposing appropriate corrective measures to improve the effectiveness of project implementation.
- Contribute to the drafting of mandatory donor reports, as well as any other reports required for accountability purposes.
- Contribute to the development of mechanisms/platforms and other systems necessary for tracking results and evaluating the country program component and related projects under their responsibility.
- Ensure smooth and high-quality communication with partners to support effective implementation of program components and projects in their area of expertise, and to enhance the visibility of UNFPA’s actions.
- Document knowledge on experiences and lessons learned, best practices, and replicable strategies/approaches.
- Actively share and apply this knowledge by creating mechanisms for organizing and sharing such knowledge to ensure its consideration in the development of future strategies.
- Organize training sessions and provide coaching to implementing partners on obstetric practices, contraceptive technology, community-based distribution, and other substantive aspects of the program and projects in their area, as well as on UNFPA’s management rules and procedures.
Education:
At a minimum, hold a Master’s degree (Master I) in Reproductive Health or any other relevant field.
Work Experience:
- Have at least 5 years of specific experience in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH), training of reproductive health service providers, or monitoring maternal health activities.
- Experience in mentoring students from midwifery training schools and/or internship sites, tutoring in obstetric practice and contraceptive technology.
- Experience with United Nations agencies or any other international organization would be an asset.
- Have a good command of using computer tools (common office software applications: spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, etc.).
Languages:
Have excellent command of French (oral and written) and a good working knowledge of English (oral and written).
