The Alliance for Combating TB in Bangladesh activity (ACTB) is implementing a dynamic, strategic, and fresh approach to accelerate Bangladesh’s fight against TB. The solutions aimed at creating an environment aligned with the universal health coverage (UHC) vision and focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, decentralized DR-TB management, child TB, expanded prevention, and others. 

The Programme Assistant under ACTB will report to the Assistant Programme Manager. The position holder will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the ACTB activity at the field level. S/he will be responsible for:

  • Representing the ACTB activity at the district level and building rapport with relevant stakeholders;
  • Cooperate in programme management plan, training staff on implementation, and support according to the plan;
  • Coordinating with the respective NGOs/GoB/UN organization staff at the designated area;
  • Receive required programme materials and logistics for training and field operation from head office and distribute them accordingly;
  • Monitor and supervise daily field activities, monitor screening quality of field attendant (FA), support the FA at every aspect of his activity in doing active case finding for TB;
  • Maintain liaison with respective facility physicians, Govt. Officials, NTP authority, and relevant stakeholders within the designated area;
  • Share findings with Programme Officer (PO), Assistant Programme Manager (APM), Programme Manager, Project Coordinators, and other leaders and seek inputs;
  • Provide support to the PO and APM in assessing data quality and addressing errors;
  • Work in a team to prepare a work plan and performance framework as instructed by the Programme;
  • Collaborate with monitoring, evaluation, and learning team to support implementation monitoring;
  • Conduct DR-TB contact investigation as assigned, and monitor DSTB CI activity;
  • Assist in the implementation of any other components or events under ACTB in the assigned district as instructed by the divisional /central ACTB team;
  • Follow other instructions of the supervisor accordingly, for better implementation of ACTB activities.

Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • 3 years of working experience in the field implementation of development programs
  • Experience with the implementation of TB program activities will be an added advantage
