The Missing Salmon Alliance
The Alliance brings together leading salmon conservation organisations in the UK to fight to
reverse the devastating collapse in Wild Atlantic Salmon across the UK. By combining expertise,
co-ordinating activities and advocating effective management solutions we can help Wild
Atlantic Salmon survive and thrive in our rivers and seas for the next generation. Wild
Atlantic Salmon are an important keystone indicator of a strong and healthy ecosystem, the
factors that improve the population of salmon also benefit a far wider biodiverse ecosystem. We
actively cooperate and collaborate with other organisations seeking to improve such ecosystems.
Our vision
To secure healthy populations of Wild Atlantic Salmon at the heart of healthy, biodiverse
ecosystems.
Our Strategy
Our strategy has been developed through the unique combination of cutting edge academic and
empirical research, practical understanding of the challenging life-cycle of Wild Atlantic
Salmon and the proven track record of the members of the Alliance in delivering hands on
projects that improve the ecosystems on which Salmon depend.
The Strategy is based on three pillars:
