Job Purpose:
The position is responsible to support the Senior Programme Coordinator (Emergency Health) /SPC(EH) on effective implementation of Hong Kong Red Cross Health Emergency Response Unit (HERU) Development Plan, including HERU training programme implementation, service promotion, organization of publicity and events, volunteer management as well as internal system building and administration. Overseas health project management & missions’ coordination will be assigned as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in activities implementation of the overseas emergency health service including global and local training events (online and face-to-face), service promotion and team activities.
- Manage HERU volunteers of various professions and volunteers’ activities including social gatherings, and sharing activities for volunteer retention and team building
- Coordinate volunteer mobilization for deployments in response to emergency operations and health programmes
- Support in managing overseas public health/ health related programme/projects and take full responsibilities for the projects assigned
- Monitor the quality, implementation, budget control of the approved programmes or activities and compile reports and operation plans
- Build networks with potential stakeholders including professional bodies, academic institutions, and other local organizations for HERU service promotion
- Support in preparing promotional materials and coordinate logistics supports in service promotional activities
- Handle reporting, system building and project management of Overseas Emergency Health (OEH) Team
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Occasional travel may be required
Requirements:
- University Degree Holder, preferably in public health or health related disciplines
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in public health or training; with 1 year work experience in humanitarian, social service or health sector
- Excellent in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Strong presentation, coordination skills and communication skills
- Knowledge of volunteer management e.g., volunteer engagement and retention
- Mature, self-motivated, creative, good team player, independent with strong sense of responsibility
- Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and under pressure
- Sound skills with video production and editing and graphic design software i.e. Photo Editor, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or related software is an advantage
- Knowledge of emergency, disaster management or public health is an asset
