Job Purpose
The Programme Support Officer fulfils project and grant administration for the South Caucasus Programme within the Europe Asia Department, and provides additional support to logistics and operations within the South Caucasus programme. This includes coordinating specific elements of financial administration, donor reporting and partner accompaniment, in particular in relation to consortium grants. The Programme Support Officer works with partners by facilitating reporting, due diligence, spot-checks and onboarding, maintains up-to-date records for partnership processes, and ensures smooth and consistent working relationships with partner organisations. This work is fundamental for enabling our peacebuilding work in the South Caucasus, including our ability to meet our obligations to partners, donors and wider stakeholders. They will support project management across specific donor grants/contracts, working closely with the Programme Officer and other members of the regional team and department.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of and commitment to working as part of a team and wider organisations in an administrative and support position.
- Excellent numeracy and accuracy skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience of providing financial administrative support to projects, including financial reporting, reviewing partner and team expenditure and financial reporting from travel and activities
- Experience of supporting donor funded projects, including reporting and compliance.
- Strong organisational skills including planning, developing, implementing and maintaining administrative systems.
- Initiative, enthusiasm and a problem-solving approach to new challenges.
- Experience of working in a multicultural environment.
- Appreciation of issues of confidentiality, and cross-cultural and political sensitivity.
- Ability to work quickly and to tight timeframes, and to balance multiple workstreams.
- Experience of liaising with external partners and/or service providers.
- Initiative, enthusiasm and a problem-solving approach to new challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience
- Good working knowledge of written and spoken Russian and other regional languages.
- Interest in and ability and willingness to travel to the South Caucasus region.
- Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation processes.
- Knowledge of and interest in contexts relevant to the department and its work.
